These stories are well written with beautiful details. As each story ends it leaves you wanting to know what the next story will bring. I could not put the book down. Each story is so different yet they all have an underlining theme that make you think about your own life and relationships. Wonderful!
I was pleasantly surprised by these short stories! At first giving the impression of being a fun light read, you'll find the stories in Three Dances are emotionally nuanced. They left me thinking about some interesting things like what I find important in life, sexuality, and relationships. The shorts "Birdcage" and "Things" were especially riveting and thought-provoking. I highly recommend Three Dances, and I'm looking forward to future works by Jeff Seymour!
This was a fun read. I enjoyed it. Some more than others but that is why short stories are awesome. There is something for everyone. There was an interesting theme in the book that I felt was really strong and unique... the author rarely lets on whether the character is male or female (at least not a first/if at all). Surprisingly, it didn't matter and it got me interested in a different way. My favorite... "Things" loved every part of it. Loved that you had no idea if it was the man or woman talking and it made that piece very strong. I'm with Grandma Carolyn on "Shoes" but it was very believable dialogue and an interesting concept.
A must read ! The stories are never too long, always interesting, and show a different aspect of the writer's universe.
Looking forward to the next book !
I read this book in an entire afternoon in the sun, putting it down only to go apply suncream!
A lovely collection of stories, each with a unique charm and a real human connection.
Well worth the read, expecting lots more greatness from Jeff Seymour!
